April

This month let’s consider our need to continue in our commitment both to God and ourselves.  No doubt you have made decisions and you will make many, many more.  Life is filled with decisions.  Everyday you are faced with issues in life that challenges you.  One good example of this is found in Daniel's life.

According to Jewish Law, eating the king's meat would defile Daniel because it would violate his Hebraic training and his Godly upbringing. Therefore, the Bible records that Daniel made a decision not to partake and stuck with it.

Dan. 1:8  - But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's delicacies, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the chief of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.

- Although Daniel's circumstances improved and then seemed to get worse, ultimately, God brought him into a place of victory.

There are six elements that can help you ensure that you are on the path to Victory:

  1. Maintain a consistent meditation of God’s Word.

Josh. 1:8 - This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it.  For then, you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

- Constantly feed on God’s Word and success is guaranteed.  You need to get into a place to hear God’s Word both at home and in Church.
If you make the effort God will bless you.

  1. Constantly confess God’s Word.

- Benjamin Franklin once said, “The heart of the fool is in his mouth, but the mouth of the wise man is in his heart.”

Mark 11:23-24 - For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, be removed and be cast into the sea, and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will come to pass, he will have whatever he says. 24Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.

- Your words are so important that Jesus instructs you to behold the power of your words when they are God’s words.

  1. Have a consistent prayer life.

Eph. 6:18 - praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints

- The apostle Paul is instructing you to pray on a regular basis. It makes the power of God available to you.

  1. Be a consistent giver.

One man once said, “There is more power in the open hand than the clenched fist.” The Bible tells us in 2 Cor. 9:7, “So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.”

- A giver means one who gives of his or her time, money and effort. As it is sown into God’s work it will produce a harvest.

  1. Don’t be moved by situations.

Phil. 4:6 - Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;

- Never allow situations or circumstances to dictate God’s ultimate plan for your life. Change the circumstances with the Word of God.

  1. Exercise forceful FAITH.

Faith honours God so God honours faith.

Matt. 11:12 - And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.

- You cannot afford to compromise, which means to give in to the enemy by mutual concessions. You  must remain separate from the enemy just as God
instructed Joshua to keep the Israelites separate from their enemies and their gods as recorded in Joshua 23:5-13.

As a final point, you must maintain a consistent meditation of God’s Word, consistently confess God’s Word, have a consistent prayer life, be a consistent giver, refuse to be moved by situations and exercise forceful faith.

Remember to say the following out aloud with conviction “I’m believing to be at the Right Place, at the Right Time saying the Right Thing and the right thing to say is the Gospel of Jesus Christ.”
