The Bible, the Word of God is direct communication from God. Let’s look at a few scriptures to solidify this truth.
Jeremiah 15:16 says, Your words were discovered, and I consumed them. They brought joy to my heart because I’m called by Your name, O Lord God of hosts.
Job 23:12 emphasizes, I’ve followed the commandments spoken by Your lips and cherished the words of Your mouth. They’re more precious to me than food.
Joshua 1:8 instructs, This book of the Law must stay with you day and night. Meditate on it so you can diligently observe everything written in it. Then you’ll prosper and succeed.
- “Thus saith Jehovah” is repeated over two thousand times from Exodus to Deuteronomy.
John 1:1 and 14 proclaim, In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 14 The Word became flesh and lived among us, and we saw His glory, the glory of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
- God and His Word are inseparable. The Word is always present and alive. Jesus is the living Word.
Hebrews 4:12 declares, The word of God is living and powerful, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
Moffatt Translation - The Logos of God is like a living, breathing entity, sharper than any sword with a double edge. It penetrates our souls and spirits, scrutinizing our deepest thoughts and ideas.
Pay attention to the next verse: Nothing is hidden from Him. Everything is open and visible to Him, the one we must answer to.
Revelation 19:13 describes Him as dressed in a robe soaked in blood, and His name is the Word of God.
- The Word is known as the Logos. Jesus is the Logos, and this living Word resides within the words of believers.
- Nothing is hidden from the living Word, which diligently searches and finds us.
- The Word serves as our path to God.
John 8:31-32 proclaims, If you remain in My word, you are truly My disciples. He continues, 32You will know the truth and the truth will set you free.
John 15:7-15 - verse 7 emphasizes, If you remain in Me and My words remain in you, you will ask for whatever you desire and it will be granted. He adds, 8By this, My Father is honoured that you bear much fruit; therefore, you will be My disciples. Expressing His love, Jesus says, 9As the Father loved Me, I also love you. Stay in My love.
He reiterates, 10If you keep My commandments, you will remain in My love, just as I kept My Father’s commandments and remained in His love. 11These teachings ensure your joy and completeness. His commandment is this: 12Love one another as I have loved you.
He declares, 13Greater love has no one than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. 14 You are My friends if you do whatever I tell you. 15 No longer do I call you servants, for a servant lacks knowledge of their master’s actions. Instead, I’ve called you friends because everything I’ve heard from My Father, I’ve shared with you.
The Word...
- Is our path to God the Father. It’s His way of reaching out. John 16:7-10 states, He convicts us of our sins, righteousness, and judgment.
- Attacks us threefold: 1) it reveals our entanglement with Satan, 2) emphasizes our right to righteousness, and 3) highlights our judgment for rejecting Jesus Christ.
- Is our path to God, salvation, rebirth, and a new life. Jesus said, You can’t enter the kingdom of God unless you’re born again, born of water and the Spirit. Peter said, You’ve been born again, not from a filthy body, but from a pure one. The Word of God resides within you.
- Offers eternal life without which we wouldn't know redemption, substitution, or a new creation. Paul
proclaimed, If you belong to Christ, you are a new creation. Everything old has vanished, and everything new has emerged. - Transforms our minds. Romans 12:2 instructs us to be transformed by the renewing of our mind so that we can discern God’s will. Colossians 3:10 urges us to put on the new man, who is being renewed to comprehend God’s will.
Studying and living the Word transforms our minds, but action is essential. James warned, Be doers of the Word, not merely hearers. Deceive yourselves! Sadly, many Bible students fall into self-deception by neglecting to apply, live, or take action upon the Word, but we are going to be different!
Say the following statement with great confidence in God. “I’m believing to be at the Right Place, at the Right Time saying the Right Thing and the right thing to say is the Gospel of Jesus Christ.”
