Some thoughts about the upcoming Christmas season - Part 2
As you focus on this festive month, turn your attention on the Babe-in-the-manger and do not forget the reason for His birth. It is not enough that you celebrate the birth of the Messiah; you must also celebrate the reason for His
entrance in the world.
The mission of Christ is as important if not more
important than the celebration of His birth. Jesus came with a very distinctive and determined purpose.
He came to...
- Deal with the “sin problem” once and for all.
- Restore to humanity its God-given privileges as inhabitants of this earth.
- §Establish the way into the kingdom of God.
The angels affirmed it this way in Luke 2:11 - For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord.”
You will notice it says a “Saviour”, a child, but a child who is a Saviour who came to rescue humanity from their sins. This baby boy grew in knowledge and wisdom, performed the works of God among the people and at the appointed time, died on the cross of Calvary for humanity.
The plan of God to deal with sin had been consummated and the ushering in of a “new era” of grace and peace was upon the earth. You now have the opportunity to receive all that God intended for humanity when He sent His only Son to the earth.
You need to recognize this Christmas season that Jesus only came to the earth for God’s purpose. Jesus did not come to live what some consider to be a “regular” life, which would entail working at a job and having a family.
Some have spend time and effort to try and “prove” that Jesus Christ was just a regular “guy.” The scriptures and Jesus himself never proclaim that He was a “regular” person living out a “regular” life. He is and will always be the Son of the Living God, God incarnate, Emmanuel, the first and the last.
The Christmas season is the perfect time to receive the eternal life promised by God the Father throughout eternity which was brought to the earth and available to humanity in the person of Jesus Christ.
The Apostle Paul said the following to the churches in area of Galatia.
Gal. 4:4 - But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.
I encourage you to accept Jesus Christ as the Son of the living God personally. Open your hearts and let the ancient of days come in. He will change your life and place a desire in you to see the kingdom of God come in all its power, not only in your life but in the life of others.
Paul the Apostle reminded the Roman church of the eternal truth of salvation that is offered through Jesus Christ and gave simple instructions on how to be SAVED…
Romans 10:9-10 - “…that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
If you are saved, make this Christmas season the best you have ever had by sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God with someone at this time of the year.
Always remember to continue to say the following aloud with conviction: “I’m believing to be at the Right Place, at the Right Time saying the Right Thing and the right thing to say is the Gospel of Jesus Christ.”
